Assault on Tudor Road
Police in the city are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault in the Ralley, Tudor Road.
The incident happened at around 3pm on Thursday July 16, when the 37-year-old victim was approached by a group of five men as he walked through the Ralley.
The men then assaulted the man leaving him with injuries to his nose and eye.
A man nearby witnessed the incident and shouted to the men to stop. At this point, the men ran off towards two white vans parked nearby.
The men are all described as white and aged in their mid thirties.
The victim received treatment for his injuries at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
PC Pete Daniels, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The victim has been left with some nasty injuries and may have to have surgery on his eye as a result of the assault.
“As the incident happened in broad day light it is likely that there is someone who witnessed the incident that we have not yet spoken to. We would like to appeal to these people to contact us with any information they have.
“No matter how insignificant the information may seem to you, it could form a vital part of our investigation and so we want to hear it.”
