Officers from the Force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A607 Melton Road in Leicester.

The incident happened at about 12.39am on Tuesday July 14, 2009 and involved a silver Honda Civic Sport and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 20’s, received serious injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment. He was transferred to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he later died.

The driver of the Honda was not injured.

DC David Sharpe, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "The Honda was travelling in the direction of Leicester city centre on the southbound A607 Melton Road.

"I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle or the pedestrian beforehand. If you have any information regarding this incident, please get in touch."
