Burglary at shop on Law Street
Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary at a shop on Law Street, Leicester.
The incident happened between 7pm on Tuesday July 14 and 7am on Wednesday July 15, when police were alerted to the break in, at Prashant Pan House, by a member of the public.
When police arrived they found that the shutters had been opened and the glass door to the premises, smashed.
Inside the shop police found that the till drawer had been taken, along with a quantity of cash and a small, grey, Titan safe.
PC Ruth Hallam, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the Law Street area between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, who may have witnessed the burglary to contact us.
“We believe that it would have taken the suspects some time to open the shutters and smash open the window and would have also made some noise. Anyone who thinks they may have witnessed this is asked to get in touch.
“Can you remember seeing someone acting suspiciously? Did you see them prior to the incident or see where they went to after? Do you know those who were responsible? Any information you have, no matter how insignificant it may seem, we want to hear it.”
Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC 4641 Ruth Hallam on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4641. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
