Police are appealing for witnessed after a grave at Gilroes Cemetery was damaged and items were stolen.

The incident happened some time between Tuesday July 7 and Friday July 17, when the victim returned to her sons grave to find that toy trucks and cars that had been left for him had been stolen and windmills at the spot had been damaged.

PC Janine Hardy, the officer investigating the incident, said: The victim has understandably been left very upset that someone would do this to her sons grave.

We are appealing to anyone who has visited the cemetery, between July 7 and July 17, and has seen someone acting suspiciously to contact us.

If you know who could be responsible for the damage then we want you to contact us and help us with our investigation.

Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC 4463 Janine Hardy on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4463. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
