Appeal following altercation on Uppingham Road
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an altercation on Uppingham Road.
Officers were called at 10.24pm on Friday July 24, 2009 following reports of an altercation taking place between a group of men, in Uppingham Road, Leicester.
Four men were injured in the incident and were taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary. Three of the men received treatment for minor injuries and the fourth man remained in hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
Part of Uppingham Road, from the area of Freeman Road North to Coleman Road, were closed short time overnight, but has since re-opened.
Three 19-year-old men and a 16-year-old youth have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.
Detective Constable Carolyn Boyce, who is investigating the incident, said: "We understand that there were several people in the street at the time of the incident and we would ask anyone who witnessed what happened to contact us.
"It is important we build a picture of exactly what happened and would urge anyone who has information whatsoever, no matter how small it may seem, to please contact the police urgently or Crimestoppers which is anonymously if you want to give any personal details."
