Arrest made following assault in Market Harborough
Police have arrested a man in connection with an assault that happened in Market Harborough earlier this month.
The incident happened just before midnight on Sunday July 12, when a woman was approached by a man and assaulted in Western Avenue Park.
The victim received minor injuries to her face and back and attended Kettering Hospital for treatment.
The man, aged 29-years-old, was arrested and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Constable Mary Gracey, the officer investigating the assault, said: “The victim has been left upset and distressed as a result of this incident and we are urging anyone with information on the assault to contact us.
“We are appealing to those people who were perhaps walking home from a night out or coming home from work and passed the Western Avenue Park area, on Sunday July 12 just before midnight, to contact us. Think back, do you remember seeing anything that could be linked to this assault? If so, then please get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 4455 Mary Gracey on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4455.
