Theft from store on Meridian Way
Police are appealing for witnesses following a theft from a supermarket off Meridian Way in Leicester.
The incident happened at about 5.45pm on Saturday July 25, 2009 when a man placed various items inside two carrier bags and left the store without paying.
Members of staff followed the man into the car park where he threatened them, before cycling off on a mountain bike in the direction of Meridian Way.
The suspect is described as white, between 5’ 7” and 6’ 1” tall, of medium build and aged in his late 30’s or early 40’s. He was wearing a pale blue and white striped t-shirt, jeans, a dark blue beanie hat, a yellow high-visibility vest and brown work boots.
PC Sarah Hansell, who is investigating the incident, said: “Did you witness this incident or see a man matching this description cycling on Meridian Way early on Saturday evening? If so, or if you recognise this man from the description provided, then please contact me.
“I would encourage anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information regarding the theft to get in touch or contact Crimestoppers, which can be done anonymously.”
