Appeal after boy assaulted in city centre

Appeal after boy assaulted in city centre
Officers are appealing for public help after an assault on a boy in the city centre.
The incident happened at around 10.15pm on Friday July 10, 2009 when the 15-year-old victim became involved in an altercation with a youth on Church Gate near to the junction with Gravel Street.
After the incident, the victim began to make his way home and turned right onto Butt Close Lane. As he was walking he was approached by the same youth who assaulted him.
The suspect ran off turning right onto Blake Street.
He is described as black, aged between 17 and 18-years-old, around 5’7” to 5’9” tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a white t-shirt and dark jeans.
The victim attended the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment to an injury to his ear.
PC Jane Everson, who is investigating the incident, said: "There were a number of people in the street at the time of the incident, who had left an under 18’s event at a nearby nightclub, and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the altercation, the assault or saw the events leading up to it, please get in touch.
"Any information you may have, no matter how insignificant it may small it may seem, could help with our investigation."
