Visitors to Oadby Library will now be able to arrive on two wheels thanks to new bike racks outside.

The 1,200 cycle parking stands installed by Leicestershire County Council provide space for up to six bikes.

Manager of Oadby Library Sharon Clayton said: We already get plenty of library users arriving by bike now theyll be able to park securely, right outside.

"We hope the new cycle parking will encourage more people to get on their bikes and visit the library!

Lesley Pendleton, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation, said: The cycle parking will be a welcome addition for users of the library and nearby shops.

"We want people to choose cycling as a healthier and greener alternative to travelling by car, so it is essential that cyclists have somewhere secure to leave their bikes.
