Motorists could experience some delays in Leicester on Saturday (August 1, 2009) when the Caribbean Carnival takes place.

At around 1pm the Caribbean Carnival’s procession of decorated floats will set off from Victoria Park for a parade into the city centre. It is expected to arrive back in the park at around 4pm.

To support this route there will be significant parking restrictions in and around the immediate area. In addition to this, from about 12 noon there will also be a number of road closures to facilitate the movement of the procession.

If you’re intending to park in the city make sure you do so safely and lawfully, parking regulations will be enforced by the City Council.

Motorists who do not intend to go to the carnival but are out in their cars on Saturday should, if at all possible, avoid the procession route and areas of the city centre affected by the Carnival.
