Appeal following assault in Loughborough
Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted on Park Road in Loughborough.
The incident happened at about 4.15am on Sunday August 2, 2009 when the victims, three men aged 28, 23 and 22-years-old were walking along Park Road in the direction of Shelthorpe.
A group of men, who had been standing at the junction with Mayfield Drive, blocked the victims’ path before assaulting two of them.
The 23-year-old victim sustained head injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment. He has since been discharged from hospital.
The suspects are all described as about 20-years-old. One of the men is described as white, 6’0” tall, of medium build with a skinhead and bulging eyes and wearing a blue Henley’s t-shirt.
Another is described as of dual heritage, 6’0” tall, of muscular build, with a stubbly shaven head, and a light-brown t-shirt with the words G-Star Raw across the chest.
A third man is described as white, 5’10” tall, of medium build, with a blue T-shirt with Henley’s written on it.
PC Andy Varley, who is investigating the incident, said: “It is believed that the suspects had visited the Vice Versa nightclub at about midnight on Saturday. I would appeal to anybody who remembers seeing them in the club or in Loughborough town centre to contact me.
“If you witnessed the incident or saw a group of men matching this description then I would like to hear from you.”
Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC 2856 Andy Varley on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2856.
