Police are appealing for witnesses following a string of incidents where property in Loughborough has been damaged.

Between Sunday August 2 and Thursday August 6 there have been three incidents in Loughborough where play areas have been damaged and one incident where property was stolen from a local water area.

Warwick Avenue play area, Jubilee Park on Buckingham Drive, Moat farm play area on Park Road and Dishley Pool on Cotton Way have all been damaged during the spate of crimes.

The suspects caused damage to the safety surface at all of the parks and have taken two lifebelts from Dishley Pool.

PC Richard Spivey, the officer investigating the incidents, said: “All the property that has been damaged is council owned and is maintained for the publics use, so I imagine many members of the community will be angered and upset by the incidents.

“We would like any members of the public who think they may know who is responsible for the damage to contact us.

“If you were in the area and saw what happened or have any information on the incidents we would like you to call us and help us with our investigations.”

Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC 1384 Richard Spivey on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1384.
