Neighbourhood officers and police volunteers will be supporting the Saffron Summer Fete this weekend.

Members of the neighbourhood policing team for the Saffron Lane Estate and representatives from the Police Authority and Police Community Support Group will have stalls at the Fete, which is being held this Saturday (August 15) between 11am and 4pm.

David Budd, community initiatives co-ordinator for Welford Road local policing unit, said: There will be uniforms for youngsters to try on, stickers, posters and lots of information about crime reduction, the Policing Pledge and neighbourhood policing.

At the fete there will be many other stalls and activities including rides, wrestling and a full stage show. Refreshments and food will be available, as well as information about many local agencies and groups.

Come along and meet your policing team, speak to the commander or the team leader. Tell the Police Authority how you think the local police are doing.

The Fete procession starts at 10am from the Samworth Enterprise Academy on Trenant Road.

The Fete is situated on Aylestone Recreation Ground opposite the Leisure Centre.
