Survey results a good 'sign' for roads Survey results a good ‘sign’ for roads

A survey of over 1,000 residents has signalled a thumbs-up for Leicestershire’s road network.

Residents were interviewed over the telephone and were asked about road conditions, street lighting, signs and other road-related questions in March this year.

Overall satisfaction with highway services was high – 86% of people being either satisfied or very satisfied with the services that Leicestershire County Council provides.

Of those services, customer satisfaction with street lighting was highest – at  93%. Other services that rated highly were road signs (89% satisfaction) and road markings (84% satisfaction).

Lesley Pendleton, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation, said: “We are really pleased with the results of this survey which show that people appreciate the hard work of the County Council’s highways teams across Leicestershire.

"Customer satisfaction is an excellent measure of how well we are doing in managing one of the County’s major assets – our road network.”
