Appeal following assault in Melton Road

Appeal following assault in Melton Road
Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault in Melton Road, Leicester.
The incident happened at around 10pm on Tuesday August 11, when the 53-year-old victim was approached by a group of men at the junction with Jermyn Street.
One of the men stopped the victim in the street and assaulted him.
The victim then took out his phone to call the police and the group ran away.
The group consisted of around six white and dual heritage men and one woman.
The victim received minor injuries to his hand as a result of the assault.
PC Laura Payne, the officer investigating the incident said: “We are appealing to people in the area who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
“If you can remember seeing a group of men and one woman in the area prior to the incident and know who any of them are or their whereabouts we want you to call.
“Any information you have on this incident could help is, so please contact us.”
