Bus it to Bradgate

Bradgate Park, one of Leicestershire’s most well-known tourist attractions, is accessible by public transport.

The park is Leicestershire’s largest and most visited country park. It is also home to the ruins of Bradgate House, the birthplace and early home of Lady Jane Grey (1537–1554), who was Queen of England for nine days.

As a popular cycling and walking route, Bradgate Park stretches from Cropston Reservoir to Newtown Linford and also features Old John - a highly-visible folly and well-recognised Leicestershire landmark.

Local bus services stop directly outside the main entrance to the park in Newtown Linford. Roberts Tours service 120 runs from Leicester to Coalville every two hours during the daytime, Monday to Saturday.

On Sundays and bank holidays, visitors can take Centrebus service 121 from Leicester to Loughborough, which runs every two hours.

Lesley Pendleton, Leicestershire County Council Cabinet Member for highways and transportation, said: “Public transport services run to Bradgate Park seven days a week, making it accessible to everyone.

“It is a great day out for all the family and walking through the park also has obvious positive health benefits.

“Bradgate Park is one of Leicestershire’s best attractions and I would encourage everyone to get out into the fresh air and see what it has to offer.”
