Appeal following robbery on Aylestone Road
Officers are appealing for a key witness to come forward following a robbery on Aylestone Road.
The incident happened at around 1.45am on Monday August 3, 2009 when a security guard was on patrol at a business premises near the junction with Duncan Road.
He was approached by four men who assaulted him and stole his laptop, a wallet and mobile phone
Following the incident the victim left the premises and attempted to flag down a sliver Peugeot 405 or 406 taxi. The driver of the car did not stop and continued to drive in a city-bound direction.
The suspects are described as Asian in appearance and had scarves covering their faces.
The victim, aged 42, required hospital treatment for his injuries. He has since been discharged from hospital.
PC Clare Moran, who is investigating this incident, said: “We are hoping that someone with information about the robbery or who knows those involved will contact us after seeing our appeal.
“We are particularly interested in speaking with the taxi driver who would have seen the victim following the robbery, as he may hold key information to the investigation.
“If you are this taxi driver, or know who he is, we are appealing to you to come forward and help us with our enquiries.”
