Police are appealing for witnesses after items were stolen from a car parked on Scarborough Road, Leicester.

The incident happened overnight from 2pm on Sunday, August 9 and 3pm on Monday, August 10, when the 30-year-old victim found that the door to her car, a grey Ford Focus, was open.

The victim, who used to be a DJ, then looked in the car to find that around 90 CDs and a steering lock had been taken.

The CDs were held in a black CD case.

PCSO Gemma Birt, an officer from Keyham Lane LPU, said: “The CDs had been collected over a number of years during the victim’s Djing career and had a lot of sentimental value, so understandably the victim is eager to have them returned.

“If you can remember seeing anyone in the area over night on Sunday August 9 acting suspiciously or know someone who has recently acquired an unexplained, large number of CDs we would like you to call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO 6563 Gemma Birt on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 6563. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
