Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary in Stanley Drive, Leicester.

The incident happened between 1pm and 5.50pm on Monday August 10, when the victim returned home to find her car had been taken from the drive and a downstairs window at the house had been forced open.

Upon entering her home she found that an untidy search had been made in a number of rooms and two LG flat screen TVs had been taken.

The car, a white Mazda MX5, was recovered later the same week on Saturday August 15, in Yorkshire Road, Belgrave.

Detective Constable Denise Pritchard, the officer investigating the incident, said: “This burglary happened in broad daylight so we are hoping that someone in the area witnessed it.

“It may be that you saw someone looking suspiciously, you might have seen someone driving the car between Monday 10 and Saturday August 15? If you have any information that you think could link to this crime we would like you to call us.”
