Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were robbed in Rushey Mead.

The incident happened at around 7.45pm on Friday August 14, 2009 when the two victims, aged 19 and 29, were walking through Rushey Mead Recreation Ground off Stafford Street.

As they walked near to the pavilion, they were approached by two men on BMX bikes.

They demanded the victims hand over their property and the 19-year-old victim was punched by the black suspect.

The robbers made off with a Samsung G600 mobile phone, a Sony Ericsson mobile phone, a bank card and a set of keys.

The first suspect is described as white, aged 19 to 20-years-old, of slim to medium build and around 5'9'' tall. He had a large nose and round face. He had blonde hair and was wearing a blue hooded top and jogging bottoms.

The second suspect is described as black, aged 19 to 20-years-old, of medium build and around 6'1'' tall. He had a moustache and stubble and was wearing a Nike black hooded top.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

PC Alex Catlow, who is investigating the robbery, said "We are appealing to anybody that may have been in the area at this time or who may have seen the incident to get in touch. Did you see anything suspicious? Did you see the group of males robbing the victims? If so, we would urge you to get in contact with police."
