Distraction burglary in Hinckley

Distraction burglary in Hinckley
Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a distraction burglary in Hinckley.
The incident happened at around 6pm on Thursday August 20, when the occupants of a house on Mill Hill Road were approached by a man claiming to be a builder.
The man gestured to the victims, a man and woman in their eighties, to open the door.
He then entered the property and asked the occupants to turn on their kitchen and bathroom taps as there had been a water leak.
Once they had done this the man walked into another room in the house, followed by the victims, where a second man was standing.
The two men then left the house and walked towards Shakespeare Drive.
One of the victims later found that money had been taken from her purse
The first man is described as white, aged between 45 and 55-years-old, around 6ft tall and of slim build. He has a round face and was wearing a grey basketball cap, grey woollen jumper and grey formal trousers.
The second man is described as white, around 6’2” tall and was wearing dark clothing with a navy baseball cap.
PC Charlotte Measey, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We are hoping that by releasing this information a member of the public will come forward with details about those responsible.
“If you live in the Mill Hill Road area and can remember seeing these men we want you to call. You may have been approached by them, maybe you recognised them or know where they come from?”
