Distraction burglary in Whitwick

Distraction burglary in Whitwick
Police are appealing for witnesses after a distraction burglary in Whitwick.
The incident happened between 1.30pm and 1.45pm on Wednesday, August 19 in the Cademan Street area when the 75-year-old answered his door to the suspect.
The suspect distracted the victim away from his address. Whilst away from his house, the victim noticed another man loitering near to his property.
A short while later when the victim returned home, he discovered his house had been searched and money which was inside had been taken.
The first suspect is described as white, between 40 and 50-years-old with short greying hair and a moustache. He was wearing jeans and a brown checked shirt.
The man who was seen loitering to his house is described as white and around 30-years-old.
Detective Constable Denise Reidy, who is investigating this incident, said: “The victim has been left extremely upset and we would appeal for anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in and around the Cademan Street area or recognises these descriptions to get in touch.
"Even the smallest details can prove crucial to an investigation so if you remember anything I'd urge you to get in touch."
