Appeal for witnesses following assault on Narborough Road
Officers are appealing for witnesses after an assault on Narborough Road.
The incident happened at around 1am on Sunday August 23, 2009 when an altercation took place between a group of men near to the junction with Shaftsbury Road.
Three men, aged 23, 45 and 50 were injured in the incident and taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The men aged 23 and 50 received stitches to gash wounds believed to have been caused with a bladed instrument. The 45-year-old man received treatment to a minor head injury. They have since been discharged.
Two men, aged 23 and 25, were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released with no further action.
A 28-year-old man who has been arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
PC Carrie Little, who is investigating the incident, said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this incident and we are still trying to piece to together the events of what happened.
“We believe there are several people who may have witnessed the incident and have yet come forward and speak to us.
“We would ask anyone who saw what happened or has any information regarding the events surrounding the assault, please get in touch urgently.”
