Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault in Bishopdale Road, Leicester.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Sunday August 23, when the 30-year-old victim was assaulted by three men known to him.

After the assault the victim attended the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment to cuts to his head.

At some point during the assault one of the men took 15 from the victims pocket.

PC Lizzie Evenden, the officer investigating the incident, said: The assault left the victim with some nasty injuries.

We are aware that there were a number of people there at the time of the assault who asked the suspects to stop. If you were one of those people we would like you to call us, the information you have could be vital to our investigation.
