Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault of 17-year-old boy in Hinckley.

The incident happened at around 10.50pm on Saturday, August 22 when the victim and his brother were walking along Derby Street, near to New Street, and passed three men.

The men followed the victim and shouted to him. As the he turned around one of the men hit him.

He then ran from the scene.

The victim received injuries to his mouth as a result of assault and attended hospital for treatment.

The suspects are described as being aged between 21 and 23-years-old and were all wearing jeans. The man who hit him was wearing a grey top and had short hair.

PC Garry Kendall, the officer investigating the incident, said: As the assault happened on a Saturday night it is likely that there would have been an increased number of people in the area.

If you were out in Hinckley last Saturday evening, August 22, and can remember seeing a group of three men matching this description in the Derby Road area then we would like you to call.

Perhaps you saw the incident? Maybe you saw where the men went to after the incident? Do you know any of those involved?

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 1492 Garry Kendall on 0116 222 2222 and follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer. When prompted key in his identification number 1492. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
