Witness appeal to assault in Loughborough
Officers are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Loughborough.
The incident occurred at around 12.15am this morning (Thursday September 24, 2009) when a man was apparently trying to break into a garage in a block of garages located between Petworth Drive and Conway Close.
He was disturbed by a local resident during which the resident was assaulted. He received minor injuries which required hospital treatment. The suspect is also believed to have sustained an injury to his face.
The suspect made off across the park towards the general area of Maxwell Drive.
He is descried as white, around 5’8 tall, thin build and possibly in his late teens. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top that had light coloured fur around the hood and light coloured trainers.
Detective Constable Claire Reid, from Loughborough CID, said: “We have been carrying out house to house enquiries in the area to establish if anyone witnessed this incident but would still ask anyone who has information regarding what happened to come forward.
“Did you notice a man matching this description in the area at this time? Did you see someone acting suspiciously near to the garages? Do you know of someone matching this description who has received an unexplained injury to their face?
“Any information you have, no matter how small it may, could be essential to our investigation so please get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 4270 Claire Reid on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4270. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
