Police in Loughborough and Charnwood are appealing for witnesses after two thefts where hedges were stolen.

The first incident happened between midnight and 2am on Thursday, September 17 in Meeting Street, Quorn.

During the incident two spiral trees in pots were taken from the front of the property.

PC Jenna Roe, who is investigating the incident said: “It is possible that the suspect used a vehicle to get away from the scene. We would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area.

“We would also ask people to take a look at the pictures and see if they recognise the hedges. Maybe someone on you street has just acquired a hedge like this? If so we want to hear from you.”

The second incident happened between 7.30pm on Friday, September 18 and 5am on Saturday, September 19 in Belmont Way, Loughborough.

A 5’ high privet hedge on a stem in the shape of a dolphin jumping through a hoop was taken from the front garden of the property.

Again, officers believe a vehicle may have been used to take the property away from the area and would ask people to take a look at the photos to see if they recall seeing a hedge like this in their area.

The incidents are not being linked at this time.
