Join Leicestershire's Big Care Debate

Join Leicestershire’s Big Care Debate on Wednesday, October 14th to help shape the future of social care and support in the county.

The event has been organised by Leicestershire County Council and will take place at County Hall, Glenfield, between 2pm and 4pm.

In July the Government published ‘Shaping the Future of Care Together’, a Green Paper on the reform of the adult care and support system in England.

Shaping the Future of Care Together spells out a vision to build a National Care Service that is fair, simple and affordable for all adults in England. It sets out the options for service reform, and how the new system could be organised and paid for.

The Government wants to hear the views of as many people as possible so join the council and its Big Care Debate to discuss the Government’s proposals, particularly the proposed National Care Service and how care should be funded.

David Sprason, Lead Member for Adult Social Care, said: “We all have an interest in the way that the care and support system of the future is shaped – whether as service users, carers, relatives, or taxpayers.

“So it is vital that we take this opportunity to have our say in the Big Care Debate. Please join us on 14th October to help shape the future of social care and support in Leicestershire together.”

If you would like to attend the event please call 0116 305 7404 or e-mail adultsocialcare@leics.gov.uk  to book your place.
