Heritage News for Autumn

A newsletter packed with the latest information about the local heritage, natural history and conservation of Leicestershire has just been produced.

The autumn edition of  ‘Branchline’ produced by Leicestershire County Council’s Environment and Heritage Services is now available free of charge from the Holly Hayes Environment and Heritage Resources Centre.

Autumn highlights include a focus on wind farms in the county, tips on recording wildlife, the solving of a murder mystery cold case and details about a new historical photography project from the Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Record Office.

There is also a round up of news from the County’s active heritage groups and volunteers on their work to record and celebrate their natural heritage.

Ernie White County Councillor and Lead Member for Heritage Services commented:

“Branchline gives an excellent overview of the work that local communities are doing in their parishes on heritage and how they are coming together to work on projects.”

Residents can obtain their copy by post from Leicestershire County Council, Holly Hayes, 216 Birstall Road, Birstall, Leicester LE4 4DG. emailing wildlife@leics.gov/uk or by calling 0116 267 0003. Copies can also be downloaded at www.leics.gov.uk/branchline.
