Youth Offending Service opens its doors

Leicestershire’s Youth Offending Service (YOS) is opening its doors to the public as part of Inside Justice Week.

An open evening is being held from 5.30pm - 8pm on Tuesday, October 20 at the service’s base in Suite 4, Bridge Park Road, Bridge Park Plaza, Thurmaston.

Inside Justice Week, which runs from October 17-24, opens up the Criminal Justice System across England and Wales with a programme of events and initiatives to give people the chance to explore the system locally.

The open evening aims to focus on the work of the YOS, sharing with residents the many different ways it engages with young people, their families and carers, victims of crime, volunteers and local communities.

Representatives from the parenting, anti social behaviour, education, restorative justice and reparation teams will be on hand so people can find out more about the service at large.

Information on the new Youth Rehabilitation Order and Scaled Approach will also be covered.

Cabinet Member for Safer Communities at Leicestershire County Council Byron Rhodes said: “We look forward to opening our doors and sharing with the public the wide range of work the Youth Offending Service carries out.

“It will be an informal evening with small presentations, videos, general discussions and an opportunity for people to learn more about the service.”

If you are interested in attending, then please book your by emailing youthoffendingservice@leics.gov.uk or phoning 0116 2606000.
