Police are appealing for key witnesses following the report of an assault in Loughborough.

The incident happened sometime between 3am and 3.45am on Sunday September 27, when the 24-year-old victim was assaulted by a group of around three men in Baxtergate, near to the junction with High Street.

The victim received minor injuries as a result of the incident and attended Russell Halls Hospital, Dudley for treatment.

The suspects are described as white, in their twenties and of a medium build.

Friends of the victim remember talking to a group of two to four men shortly before the incident and it is believed that they could have witnessed the assault.

PC Suzie Jackson, the officer investigating the incident, said: “Since the incident we have been speaking with various witnesses and checking CCTV in the area, but now we are hoping that by appealing to these key witnesses we will manage to piece together what happened.

“If you can remember being out with a group of friends, all men, on Sunday September 27, and were speaking with another group of men in Baxtergate, please call as its likely you have vital information about this assault.

“If you think you know who is responsible or can remember seeing the assault we would like you to call, you may hold key information in piecing this incident together.”
