Loughborough MP Opposes Tory Cuts to Voluntary Sector at John Storer House

Loughborough MP Andy Reed today said he was shocked to hear of immediate cuts being made to John Storer House in Loughborough by the local Tory Council.
"I will oppose these all the way on behalf of the thousands of people who benefit from the work of John Storer House and its volunteer programmes. Only 3 weeks ago I was with the Carers group and listening to how vital the support they give each other has been to them.
"I only learned this morning that the cuts are proposed for this financial year. With no notice the Borough Council will be cutting money to the most vulnerable. I only met with the Borough Council a couple of weeks ago to listen to their plans and none of this was mentioned.
"I fear this is just a taste of things to come if the Tories ever got back into government"
"I have written to the Borough Council asking for them to reverse the decision.
