Chance to learn about care changes

New changes that give adults more choice and control over the care they receive will be highlighted at a public meeting.

People are being invited to Parklands leisure centre, Oadby, between 9.30am and 3pm on Friday, November 27, to learn about personalisation – a major change to the way adult social care is delivered. They can also take part in workshops, to help develop the changes.

David Sprason, the County Council’s Cabinet member for Adult Social Care, said: Personalisation will reshape adult social sare over the coming years, and will have an impact on other services as well.

"I’d urge everyone to come along and learn about how the programme will give adults more choice and control over the care they receive.

There will be a chance to ask questions and we want to ensure people’s views are taken into account.”

The meeting is being staged by the County Council and Leicestershire LINks – an independent group of local people, community groups and voluntary organisations, who have their say on health and care services.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to join the LINk, to be able to get involved with the further development of personalisation, and make sure their views continue to be heard.

Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided and agreed travel and care expenses can be paid to LINk members, including people who join LINk on the day.

Places at the event are limited. For more information or to book at place, call Gill Wollerton, Leicestershire LINk, on 0116 229 3028, email gill@ccp.org.uk or visit www.leics.gov.uk/personalisation
