Police have charged a 16-year-old youth with TWOC (Taking Without Owners Consent) after a car was stolen from the Lewis Road area of Loughborough.

Police arrested the youth shortly after 1am on Thursday November 5, after officers spotted the stolen vehicle.

A youth ran from the vehicle and was found by police dog Ferros hiding in a back garden, in Sharpley Drive.

He was arrested and then later charged.

The 16-year-old is due to appear at Loughborough Youth Court on Thursday November 19, 2009.
