A host of gift experience days will be available to buy, including a day visit to the award-winning exhibition for just £15 for a family of four, or unlimited visits to the exhibition for the whole year for just £45 for a family of four, including free parking and 10% off all events throughout the year.
For those looking for a truly unique present, Hawkwise Falconry will be offering gift experience vouchers for hands-on falconry sessions with their majestic birds of prey at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre.
Mulled wine and mince pies will be available in the historic Tithe Barn restaurant, which will be open from 9am – 4pm offering a variety of delicious hot and cold meals and refreshments.
A full English Breakfast will be served from 9am – 11.30am, followed by a traditional Sunday Carvery with all the trimmings from 12pm – 3pm (booking is advised for carvery on 01455 291 048). A wide selection of home-made cakes and snacks will be available throughout the day, along with a fully licensed bar.
Santa will be making an appearance during the day and there’s also the chance for families to test their powers of observation and deduction in a treasure hunt for all of King Richard’s Army’s weapons so people should keep their eyes peeled! Entry is just £1 per child, with prizes for all those who correctly locate the missing items.
The award winning interactive exhibition, which was crowned Best Small Visitor Attraction in the East Midlands at the 2009 Enjoy England Awards, will also be open from 10am – 4pm, with armour to try on, weapons to handle and even an interactive longbow where visitors can test their Archery skills. Entry to the exhibition is £6 adults, £3 children, £4 concessions and £15 for families (2 adults and 2 children).
A Bosworth Guide will be leading visitors on a walk through history on an Advent Guided Walk at 11.30am. Notes to Editors
Background: Bosworth Battlefield is run by Leicestershire County Council and is the location of the Battle of Bosworth. The battle, which took place on 22 August 1485, brought an end to 30 years of English civil war, now known as the War of the Roses and saw the infamous King Richard III lose both his life and crown to Henry Tudor. The Battlefield includes a new exhibition telling the story of the Battle and looking at its impact on British history, which has been funded by an award from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Admission to the exhibition costs £6 for adults, £4 concessions and £3 for children. Family ticket £15 (2 adults + 2 children) or £10 (1 adult + 2 children)
