More affordable homes in Loughborough despite the credit crunch

Since April 2009 a total of 136 new affordable homes have been delivered in Charnwood despite difficulties in the housing market.
Riverside Housing have just taken control of 15 homes in Byron Street Extension Loughborough providing five apartments for affordable rent and 10 apartments available on a shared ownership basis. The borough is therefore on course for its most successful year since 2003/04 for new affordable housing.
Despite the difficulties in the housing market, Charnwood Borough Council has worked closely with the Homes and Communities Agency, house builders and housing associations working within the borough to make the most of a range of new funding opportunities made available by the Government to assist the housing market through its current difficulties.
