Police are appealing for witnesses after a bicycle was stolen from Ling Road in Loughborough.

The incident happened at about 3.15pm on Saturday December 5, after the victim, a 61-year-old man, left his bike outside a shop on Ling Road.

When the victim came back out of the shop, the bike had been stolen.

The bike has been described as custom made and blue in colour, with front suspension, smooth tyres, a black and silver seat, black handle bars and white forks.

A 16-year-old youth later arrested in connection with the incident has since been released without charge.

PC Glen Reid, who is investigating the incident, said: “There were a number of people in the Ling Road area at the time of this incident. One man who had been driving a car, witnessed the theft, but the victim didn’t take his details and he wasn’t present when officers attended.

“I would like to appeal to this man and anybody else who saw what happened to contact me. If you’ve been offered a bike matching this description or have any information about this incident, then please come forward.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 2061 Glen Reid on 0116 2222222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer identification number 2061. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
