“Stress Free Christmas Activities”

Why not take a relaxing break at this hectic time of year and visit your local museum for some great exhibitions and more besides.
Melton Carnegie Museum
Has the amazing Royal Photographic Society’s Distinction Panel Members’ Exhibition on until 14th March, a free exhibition featuring works by internationally renown photographers. The museum which is free is open until 12 noon on 24th December and then re-opens on 30th December at 10am, for further information please ring 0116 305 3860.
Charnwood Museum
Until 24th December has local artist Ray Weston’s very popular ‘The Romance of Nature, Land and Sea’ exhibition. Charnwood Museum is on the long list of only 20 museums in the country nominated by families in the 2009 Guardian Family Friendly Museum Award, so do take the opportunity this holiday time to visit an exceptional local museum. The museum which is free is open until 3pm on 24th December and then re-opens on Saturday 9th January and for further information please ring 01509 233 754.
Donington Le Heath Manor House
On Saturday 19th December Classics Tearoom is hosting Christmas with Henry VIII, to book for this please ring 01530 817 214.
Harborough Museum
On Friday 18th December and Saturday 19th December the museum will be running Christmas Treasures from 11am to 4pm daily, a free drop in festive arts and crafts session for 5 to 12 year olds to be accompanied by an adult.
The museum houses the amazing Hallaton Treasure and is open until 23rd December and then reopens on Monday 28th December. For further information please ring 01858 821 085.
