Find out more about anaerobic digester plans
Posted on 14/01/2010
Community Services
People can find out more about plans for an anaerobic digester in between Sapcote and Broughton Astley at a public meeting.
Mark Lovatt Farms has submitted proposals for the facility which would use food and farm waste to produce sustainable energy.
The plant would treat 35,000 tonnes of food processing waste and 20,000 tonnes of agricultural waste each year.
At the event next month, people will be able to look at the plans, speak to officers and ask questions.
Issues raised, along with all other comments made to the Council, will be taken into account before a final decision is made.
The meeting, arranged by the County Council, will take place at 7.30pm on Wedneday, 3rd February at Broughton Astley Village Hall which is on Main Street.
People can look at the application and supporting environmental statement by:
- logging on to the County Council’s website and viewing the anaerobic digester planning application within the Environment and Waste section
- visiting County Hall where a hard copy is available
The County Council's Development Control and Regulatory Board is due to discuss the application in the next few months.
For more information about the Board meetings, please see the Your Council section of the County Council's website or contact the committee officer, Ms J. Bailey, on 0116 305 6225.
