Four people arrested in Loughborough for burglary and drug related offences
Three warrants have been executed in Loughborough and four people arrested for burglary and drug related offences.
The warrants, issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and the Theft Act 1968, took place at three properties in the town on Wednesday 13th January 2010. Officers raided an address on Hermitage Road and recovered property which is believed to have been stolen in a burglary. A 57 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen property and is currently on Police bail.
A second warrant was executed on Sharpley Road where a quantity of what’s believed to be Class ‘A’ drugs was recovered along with a number of electrical items which were seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act. A 33 year old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of Class ‘A’ drugs. A 32 year old woman was also arrested for possession of a controlled drug and possession of criminal property; both are now on Police bail.
Officers went into a third property, also on Sharpley Road, and recovered property suspected of being stolen in a burglary. A 32 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and has also been bailed.
Detective Sergeant Mark Sinski said; “These warrants have been carried out as part of our campaign to tackle burglaries in the Loughborough area. We are targeting burglars and the people who handle stolen property. While executing these warrants we’ve recovered a variety of items which we suspect are stolen and our investigations are continuing. If anyone has any information about the people who are committing this type of crime then I would urge them to get in touch so that we can take further action.”
