The Chairman of Leicestershire County Council, Roger Wilson, is welcoming a group of 18 students and teachers from China to County Hall on Wednesday 3rd February at 1.15 pm.

The visitors are from two schools in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in China.  They have been working closely with Lutterworth College and Lutterworth High School since 2007 including teacher and student visits to both China and England.

During this visit the students from China are working on a project that will  focus on nature conservation and will be studying at Twycross Zoo.  Over Easter, a group of students from Lutterworth will be going to Chengdu to work with their Chinese partners at the panda reserve just outside the city.

Roger Wilson, Chairman of the County Council, said:

"Leicestershire County Council has for many years formed a close partnership with the people of Sichuan in China.  By working together young people from both China and Leicestershire have been able to broaden their horizons and have taken the opportunity to learn from each other."
