Man verbally abused and threatened in Checketts Road, Leicester
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man reported being verbally abused and threatened by another man.
The incident happened around 7.10pm on Monday, March 8, on Checketts Road, Leicester.
The victim was walking with his two young sons along Loughborough Road in Leicester, before crossing over to Checketts Road. When they reached Checketts Road, a man behind them, began to shout abuse. The victim carried on walking, but the man continued to shout abuse and threatened him, before walking away.
Following the altercation, the man was seen going into a restaurant in Checketts Road.
The man is described as white, aged 38-40-years-old, of slim, muscular build, with short blond spiky hair which was brushed back. He wore a brown leather jacket, white t-shirt, blue stone washed jeans and was clean shaven.
PC Leah Storer investigating the incident said “This has been a very upsetting incident, especially for the victim’s two young sons, who witnessed the abuse and threatening behaviour.
“We believe the abuse was religiously motivated because of the things the man said to the victim during the incident.
“Think back, do you remember seeing the victim with his two sons being abused by this man on Checketts Road? Or maybe you know who is responsible?
“Any information you have could help with our investigation.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 4670 Leah Storer on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 4670. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
