Charnwood Borough Council Delivering Significant Efficiency Savings

Figures released by the government show that, out of all the district councils in Leicestershire, Charnwood Borough Council has delivered the highest efficiency savings per household over the last 2 financial years.
The savings have been made without lessening the level or quality of the Council’s services and the main things that have contributed towards these excellent results are the new waste and fleet management contracts, insurance premium savings, and a host of other improvements and efficiencies across most of the Council’s services.
Mike Preston, Leader of the Council, said “These efficiency savings are evidence of the Council’s continued efforts to look for better and more cost effective ways of delivering services and improving the quality of life for the people of Charnwood.”
