On Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May Loughborough Town Centre will be brought alive by Streets Alive 2008. From 12 noon to 5.00pm the centre of town will be filled with free entertainment, activities and fun for all the family and promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
One very special visitor stands head and shoulders above all the others – literally! Prepare to welcome the eight-foot metal magnificence of Titan the Robot!
Little is know about this mammoth robot except that he is very friendly and loves to meet people. Some think he may be a distant cousin of our very own Sockman but this is pure speculation.
All we know for sure is that he started life as a flat pack self-assembly unit. But no box could hold him for long and now Titan can be seen throughout the land, having a lovely time with the people of Britain.
His visit to Loughborough promises to shock and delight – but mostly delight!
Many thanks to Loughborough Town Centre Partnership whose additional support has enabled Titan to bring the Streets Alive! in his own unique way.
Other highlights of the day include Oojami, with their gorgeous Turkish musical grooves; folk duo Tom Kitching and Gren Bartley; Chinese Lion Dancers and the best home-grown circus in town with Bill Brookman.
The contestants from last year’s ‘Charnwood’s Got Christmas Talent’ will be reminding the crowds of their abilities along with many others including comedians and bands, Demon barbers and Oojami to name a few.
Food stalls and a host of craft and farmers market stalls will be set up for bargain hunters, offering delicacies and tastes from around the world.
