"Hey Kath, I've been hearing about this new sport called triathlons and I think I want to try just one." "Sure! I know you. You'll do one and then you'll be hooked." So I began to train and got into pretty good shape except for my 20# "donut." The 5k run was o.k., biking was alright however "oh the swim." What a problem. But I was not daunted. I was determined to experience "my first triathlon."
Well, one of my main concerns was to fit in, and everybody knows that experienced swimmers always wear 'Speedos." So anyway, I made my trip to the sporting goods store and got myself one of those "Speedos."
Course I had never worn anything however boxer styles my entire life, but, by golly, I wasn't going to stick out like a sore thumb in the middle of all those triathletes. I was going to fit in!
My curiosity was getting the greatest of me, so I rushed home to try on my new "Speedo." I really hoped Kath wasn't going to be home because modeling my new suit seemed to me to be kind of a personal thing, if you know what I mean. So there I was just me, the mirror, and my "Speedo," all alone in my bedroom just like I planned it.
I stretched that small number over my not so petite buttocks, and took by first peak in the mirror. "Oh No." What I witnessed was not a pretty sight. Not only did I feel like I was standing there all "nudytoots," however my "donut" was accentuated profoundly, and you could see all my dimples too.
Well I wasn't discouraged, because I was committed to this endeavor. So it was on with the show, if you know what I mean, and I didn't think it was necessary to model my new suit for Kath. She'd see it soon enough at "my first triathlon."
Well here it is the day of the race. I've got to admit that I'm a small excited even though there's no odds to place. "Wonder what it's going to be like?"
"Here I am." Got my bikeand my gear and I'm entering the start area. "Oh no. Just realized my first mistake! The "Speedo" assumption. Half these people are wearing boxers, and here I stand with my cheeks sticking out for the whole world to see.
The swim was horribly slow. You see, I wore my glasses with an athletic band and did the entire swim with my head out of the H2O and my feet dragging on the bottom accounting for a 35 minute half mile swim. I dragged my partially nude butt up the boat ramp and discovered that I was the last one out of the water. I felt all alone however guess what? I was all alone except for the crowd and, "Oh No," the announcer. That's when I realized my next mistake besides entering, in the first place. You see, for some reason I thought this was such a big deal that I used my legal name Ferdinand Charles Scholz III in place of just what everybody calls me, Max.
Then I heard the microphone. "And here he comes, Fernando Scholz" and as I ran past the crowd, I caught a glimpse of my family. There they were, Matt, Jon, Meredith, and of course, Kath, who had just witnessed my" Speedo" for the first time, and I could tell. They were all just as proud of me as peacocks.
As I biked out of the transition area, I felt this enormous sense of relief. I had just completed the most difficult leg of "My First Triathlon."

Whether you're swimming purely for pleasure or as part of a more serious training programme there are a number of things you can do to get the most out of your swim sessions. Here's our top tips to help you enjoy your swim as much as possible.
1. Before you get in the pool do some stretches to warm up. Then start your session by gliding for a few minutes to get your body used to the water.
2. Practise your breathing techniques. The secret of maintaining a good swimming stroke is the correct breathing so make sure you spend some time getting it right.
3. During front crawl your head should be slightly up and looking forward. If you let your head rock then your body will also move from side to side making it more difficult to swim well.
4. Vary your pace. Do some lengths slowly, some harder and some as fast as you can. This will burn up calories and improve your stamina.
5. Competitive swimmers train in "sets" just as you would at a gym and you can too. Build up your stamina by increasing the length of the sets.
6. Even if you're an experienced swimmer you might want to take a few lessons. An instructor will be able to advise on breathing and technique.
7. Check your pool session times. If you want to swim lengths make sure you go when there are allocated lane sessions. Weaving yourway round other pool users can be very frustrating.
8. Make sure you choose your swimwear well. A fashionable swim suit or bikini may look good however it won't necessarily help you get the greatest out of your swimming training.
9. If you always feel cold in the H2O choose a lined swim suit. This will help keep you warm and increase your enjoyment of swimming.
10. Chlorine will damage your swimwear so look after it by rinsing it thoroughly following each swim to prolong its life.
11. Buy some demisting fluid and make sure you demist your goggles regularly. If you're swimming in the sea then shaded goggles will protect your eyes from the sun.
12. Wear a swimming hat. Chlorine can damage your hair and dry out your scalp occasionally making it flake. Make sure your hat isn't too tight.

Looking for exercises for a firm butt? I can remember just like it was yesterday, the exact horrifying moment when I realised that perhaps, just maybe I might need some exercises for a firm butt.
When I put on one of my favorite pair of jeans that fateful day, I was SHOCKED. These particular jeans used to look great on me; I mean they looked really good. No pockets on the butt, just some buttons, very slenderizing. I put them on, and confidently walked over to the mirror and was genuinely repulsed by my own image in the mirror. It was like I had cotton balls in the seat of my pants, I thought, huh? I reached in the seat of my jeans, and OMG, it wasn't cotton balls, it was ME!
Cellulite. I was sick, literally nauseated. I slowly sat down on the bathtub. I thought, how and when did this happen. About now, the need for exercises for a firm butt was weighing heavily on my mind.
Next, like some mad women, I frantically started trying on some of my other clothes. I'd run to the mirror with each new try-on hoping against hope that it was only that one pair of jeans. Much to my horror, it wasn't, the 'Big Cellulite Butt' curse had officially hit. The only way not to see it, was to turn off the light. I needed exercises for a firm butt and I needed them NOW!
After my eye opening experience, I started looking at everyone, men and women alike and noticing their rear ends. I wanted a sexy attractive firm butt just like most of them had. After you finally get the darn things on, then you get to spend your time trying to hide 'IT'. 'IT" being the enormous cellulite booty you've acquired. You know it's gotten really bad, when you go grocery shopping and you're always making sure your butt is to the wall because you've become so self-conscious. Try picking up a can of soup from a low shelf without bending over. Oh No! You don't want other shoppers to comment on your massive backside. Let's face it, having a 'Too-Big-Booty' just isn't FUN, nowhere and no how! Effective, exercises for a firm butt have now become an absolute necessity.
This was humorous glimpse at my own heart-breaking struggle with the big cellulite butt syndrome.
