Choosing the Exercise to Suit You

Choosing the Exercise to Suit YouBy Gary Everson

The exercise style you choose depends completely on you, your lifestyle and what you like to do, it has to!

If this consideration is not at the forefront of your mind when you decide when where and how to exercise, your exercise program is doomed to failure.

This might sound very negative, however in truth it is not not positive at all. If you could stretch your finances to a personal trainer, what do you think your first few sessions would be about? That's right, your new trainer would be trying to absorb as much as possible about you, your lifestyle, your likes and dislikes and your abilities.

Whether you wish to spend hours in the gym, or out jogging, or in your basement room working out in private, are you a morning person, or an evening person? it all needs to be considered fully before you start spending money on expensive equipment, or fitness club memberships.

If you choose an exercise or workout regimen that doesn't suit you, you may be able to keep it up for as long as your willpower lasts, however if you fundamentally don't like to do the exercise you have chosen, you will stop going as soon as you get to the point where you can no longer face it, you are unlikely to begin again, human nature dictates that once you have broken the routine, you will keep finding reasons not to start again.

Walking for example is a great exercise, it suits people with all levels of fitness and unless you have a severe medical condition, anyone can start a walking program at any time. Walking is also a very social exercise, it isn't difficult to select a training partner and the pace normally means that you can chat while you exercise. Walking with a partner will make things more enjoyable and make the time go by faster.

But walking doesn't suit everybody.

Personally, I'm not keen on small talk and walking bores me to tears, it seems so pointless. However, get me into the gym and show me a few weights and in no time at all I'm pushing, pulling and liftingthe barbells and dumbbells, it just seems to suit me better, sure I can do cardio, however I prefer to limit it to the warm up before my workout and the cool down after my workout.

It just suits me and it is so important to listen to your body and it's needs.

If you're a runner, go for a jog, or sprint if you prefer. If you feel more exhilaration after lifting some weights, make sure your exercise program reflects this, however no matter which style of exercise you choose, you must temper your enthusiasm to begin with, start at a low level of intensity and build it up over a reasonable period, this is essential to both your health and to the longevity of your exercise program. Come out of those starting blocks too fast and you could end up with an injury, which will require an extended time to recover and regain your fitness.

Not only this, however you have broken the routine and will also become demoralized with the whole idea, making it much harder to begin again once you have fully recovered.

So take care out there, both with your choice of exercise and with the pace at which you start out and the rewards will be greater health and a happier, more active life.

Easy Exercise For Fat LossBy Julie Willis

Losing weight isn't just about your diet. I talked in a previous article about making lifestyle changes. One of those changes you will need to make to loose body fat or adipose tissue is starting an exercise or workout program. We all know that exercise is just as important as diet when trying to lose weight. If you are new to exercise then you will want to start with an easy exercise program for fat or adipose tissue loss.

The important thing to remember if you are just starting your exercise program is to start slow so you do not injure yourself. If you are too sore to move the next morning then exercise will do you no good. Let's start with an easy exercise program and then build up to more intense exercise as your fitness level increases.

The greatest exercise for fat or adipose tissue loss is interval training. Your level of fitness may not support the bursts of high intensity activity required for interval training. You may need an easier program to get you started.

One of the easiest exercises that is great for weight loss is walking. Take a fast paced walk for about 30 minutes each day to start. If you cannot go for 30 minutes in the beginning split it into two 15 minute sessions increasing the sessions a couple of minutes each day until you can do 30 minutes at a time. Once your body starts feeling accustomed to this routine it is time to step it up just a bit. Increase your walking time by 5 minutes every other day until you are up to one hour. Now you are probably at a level where you can start integrating some interval training into your workout.

Exercise can get boring and routine so by all means mix it up a little. Swimming is another good activity that you can start out slow and build up as your fitness level increases.Instead of walking everyday substitute a 30 minute session in the pool. Just like walking build up to longer periods of activity until you are ready for interval training.

The key to starting your exercise program is to get up off the sofa and do something. It is agreed by most fitness experts that 30 minutes of exercise is a minimum to start getting fat or adipose tissue burning results. Be creative with your day and look for ways that you can increase your activity levels even when you are not exercising, the advantages are accumulative. Find ways to be more active during your normal day. Do things like standing and walking around the house when you talk on your mobile phone. Take the stairs in place of the lift at work. Park further from the door at the supermarket and walk the extra distance. Just do not give up. You will be sore at first however this will get better with time. Do not be discouraged and ask a friend to join you, it is always more enjoyable when you can share your exercise time with a friend.

There are more easy lifestyle changes you can make. I have published more free information and details about these changes and the greatest ways to loose body fat or adipose tissue at http://www.squidoo.com/my-fat-loss-secrets
